Track Name: Girl Can't Dance
They say a girl can get her guy
with moves so smooth
and a body to match
In a skin-tight dress
on the dance floor
is where she'll find a perfect catch

They say that anyone can dance
it's just a matter of
moving your body the beat
But I saw a girl on the floor tonight
with more than two left feet
and I said

That girl can't dance
she's just embarrassing herself
Look at her friends,
they're slowly edging away, because
That girl can't dance
and I think someone should tell her
but I won't tell her

I'm going into town tonight
Just want to hit some bars
and have a good time
And if I find the motivation
I might leave my fear of
dancing behind

And if I see that girl again
well maybe I'll think twice
Because if I remember rightly
she seemed like she'd be quite nice to talk to
but maybe we'll just stay away from the dancefloor tonight
Cos I've got these friends with me,
they're a bit judgemental
and I don't want to hurt your feelings

That girl can't dance
she's just embarrassing herself
Look at her friends,
they're slowly edging away, because
That girl can't dance
and I think someone should tell her
Well, maybe I should tell her

So I edged up to her, all quiet,
while she was standing at the bar
and I said,
"Hey, didn't I see you here the other week?"
and she said,
"Oh yeah, I remember you,
you're the one they were talking about."
"Yeah? Well what were they talking about?"
"And she said,

'That boy can't dance
he's just embarrassing himself
What, does he think
that thing he's doing with his hands looks cool?
That boy can't dance
maybe someone should tell the fool,'
so I guess I just told you..."

Shit.

That girl can't dance
but fuck it, neither can I
But I really like this tune
so I'm gonna do my best
That girl can't dance
but it don't stop her from dancing
it won't stop me from dancing

Will it stop you from dancing?
No don't stop,
No don't stop dancing
Track Name: Hum The Tune
Sometimes you write a song
that you can't sing
because the subject matter
raises something
that you'd kept in the dark
Or maybe you'll sing her name
Maybe it doesn't really matter
what you say
Because you've said it
so you can't sing it out loud

If it needs to be said then say it,
and if it needs to be sung, don't hesitate
but if you wrote it and now you regret it,
hum the tune

Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na

This is a song for the ones
who feel betrayed
but not enough to lose a friend,
A song for the ones
with a hidden past,
who kept it in the dark too long
This song's about the girl
who doesn't know that he's in love with her,
and the boy who doesn't know
she loves him too

If it needs to be said then say it,
and if it needs to be sung, don't hesitate
but if you wrote it and now you regret it,
hum the tune

Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na

If it needs to be said then say it,
and if it needs to be sung, don't hesitate
but if you wrote it and now you regret it,
hum the tune

Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Track Name: What's It Like?
What's it like to be in love?
What's it like to feel their arms around you?
What's it like to know there's someone there
to talk about your day
and make it seem okay?

What's it like to be in charge?
What's it like to have decisions to make?
What's it like to be the one that they depend on
the on that lets them down

It's feelin' free
to hold your head up high
and shout, "this is who I am,
And this is my opinion"
And you're free
to chase the dreams of man
and find exactly what it's like
to feel free

What's it like to be remembered
What's it like to hear their voice calling your name?
What's it like when friends you haven't seen in ages
come running to your arms

What's it like to be on stage?
What's it like to sing your songs to thousands?
What's it like to hear them singing back
the lyrics that you wrote
the first time that they hear them?

It's feelin' free
to hold your head up high
and shout, "this is who I am,
And this is my opinion"
And you're free
to chase the dreams of man
and find exactly what it's like
to feel free
Track Name: Less Than Three
Let me start by saying sorry
I know I don't tell you how I feel
It takes enough to say I want you
but that's not what you need
I care about you
but love's a much stronger word
and "I like you" really doesn't sum up
how much you're worth

I'm the last straw on the camel's back away
from saying those three words

I'm putting a message in this song
and I'll get everyone to sing along
Just to let you know how I feel
A valentine on mp3
yours forever,
less than three

You know I miss you
when my connection goes down
and I can't see your face to make it seem
like you came around
Those days without you
I find it harder to sleep
Even a half bottle of morgan's
couldn't make me complete

I'm the hair on the back of your neck's breadth away
from saying those three words

I'm putting a message in this song
and I'll get everyone to sing along
Just to let you know how I feel
A valentine on mp3
yours forever,
less than three

Take the distance from the depths of the deepest ocean
to the surface of pluto
and multiply by as far as you can count
and you'll still be nowhere near
you'll still have no idea
how much I want to hold you

I'm putting a message in this song
and I'll get everyone to sing along
Just to let you know how I feel
A valentine on mp3
yours forever,
less than three
Track Name: Walking Away
What do you see in flashes of light
when you open your eyes and the world is too bright?
Creatures from fantasy, or failures and flattering
memories, altered to paint you the heroine
Through the looking glass,
keep an eye on your past
and keep moving forwards without turning back
But truth is distorted through mirrors and glasses
and I'm in your blindspot
awaiting a glance

Since that night of soap opera romance
I can't share a single bed with
anybody else
And I wonder if you think about
just giving me a call and saying,
"Hey, remember me?
Remember anything at all?"

'Cause I try
to live like there's living to do
But I'm waiting for an answer
and you're silent and too far away
Tell me why
I'm sitting here waiting for you
I've been sitting so long
I've forgotten the reasons you gave
When you walked away

Take a minute to open your eyes
while the bright lights have faded, and stars fill the sky
Look past the mirror, it's clouding your judgement
a constant obstruction that hides the horizon
You're much better off
looking back once in a while
than fixing your eyes on the future
'cause every mistake is a lesson worth learning
So I'll be your teacher
if you'll take me back

All the prayers and the hope cannot save me
I'm holding on tight, but you're letting me go
So I'm trying to remember when
you told me what love means
and that sometimes it's applicable
to what you feel for me

And I try
to live like there's living to do
But I'm waiting for an answer
and you're silent and too far away
Tell me why
I'm sitting here waiting for you
I've been sitting so long
I've forgotten the reasons you gave
When you walked away

Still I try
to live like there's living to do
But I'm waiting for an answer
and you're silent and too far away
Don't know why
I'm sitting here waiting for you
I've been waiting too long
I just wish you'd turn round so you'd see
I'm walking away
Track Name: Untitled (Can't Find The Words)
Sometimes I'm angry,
and sometimes I hurt
but mostly I miss you
and I can't find the words
If I say, 'I love you'
You misunderstand
You just say 'I love you'
You won't take my hand

I've been trying to tell you
in my words and my deeds
Just what you mean to me
But you're blind to my needs

I can tell you I love you
and it won't mean a thing
For the words may have meaning
but you're not listening
Still I stand on your shoulder
Light and darkness combined
Playing conscience and reason
Until we intertwine

Maybe I should forget you
Shut you out of my life
Take my refuge in darkness
Block out your light
Seek salvation in solace
Brave my heart in the cold
Keep your memory sacred
So you never grow old

Sometimes I'm angry,
and sometimes I hurt
but mostly I miss you
and I can't find the words
Track Name: Night Train
Pale snow white with cherry lips
Your taste will linger
like the last time
The shadows 'neath your eyes
hide under thick black lines
that draw me in

I'm alive in broken moments
but mostly living for the
sparkling gold that flecks
the ocean of your eyes
Those shining promises
Relieve me of my senses
and I simply smile

Sing to me; your voice is all I strain to hear
Talk to me - for conversation keeps you near
Kiss me gently, I will hold you
'til the night train comes

Open hearts and zipped down jeans
our passion's stilted
by the fear of being caught
Or fear of growing close
and never letting go
I crossed your lines

Throw words around
and skirt around the ones that matter
Decide it isn't time,
Not now, not yet
But you don't leave
You don't leave
Please don't leave

Sing to me; your voice is all I strain to hear
Talk to me - for conversation keeps you near
Kiss me gently, I will hold you
'til the night train comes

And all this waiting
All this suppression
I don't know what it's doing to you
But it's killing me

When the night train comes
we're still talking about us
and when you realise
you quickly take your leave
At the bus stop we are silent
and we barely touch
But inwardly I'm crying out
When the bus comes round the corner
We make fleeting goodbyes
and with a kiss you're gone
until the next time
And I'm left hoping
I'm left hoping
Hoping I'll see you again

Sing to me; your voice is all I strain to hear
Talk to me - for conversation keeps you near
Kiss me gently, I will hold you
'til the night train comes
Track Name: Butterfly In The Breeze
Is it raining in your heart?
It’s raining in mine
Is it beating in sequence?
Because mine’s out of time
And I’m feeling defeated
And you’re in your prime
And I’m feeling like
A butterfly in the breeze

Is it hard to be happy?
Is it hard to be free?
Is it worth all the heartache?
Is it easier to see
if you’ve already made it
And you’re looking at me
And I’m feeling like
A butterfly in the breeze

Will the waiting be over?
Will the winds ever cease?
Or is everyone just a butterfly in the breeze?

Is it good once you make it?
Do you feel better now?
Do you know how you got there?
Could you tell me how?
How to get where you’ve got to
How to make your voice count
Because I’m feeling like
A butterfly in the breeze

Will the waiting be over?
Will the winds ever cease?
Will the loss turn to profit?
Will the hurting decrease?
Will we break from this struggle?
Will you vindicate me?
Or is everyone just a butterfly in the breeze?

Because I’m feeling like
A butterfly in the breeze
Track Name: Frozen Snow
Frozen snow cracks beneath my feet
and I feel every wrong I ever inflicted
Sweet-scented smoke fills my lungs
and all I taste is what you could've meant to me
if not for growing up, or moving on,
or oceans I can't cross
I'll take to pen and paper,
stroke these metal strings
to express my hope, my dreams, my loss

I wish I had an affinity for photographs
or how they look in black and white, stuck to my wall
A fictional storyboard of memories and happy times
might pull me out of drowning pools in my head
And I am waking up, I'm changing,
I am constantly in flux
One moment happy to be me
the next just praying to be "us"

The pavement underneath me shines
like glitter on the page
of home-made christmas cards
from much-loved friends
Your star begins to rise
Rise up to the surface
but don't climb up too high
because I like you fallen

Frozen snow has turned to ice
it catches me off guard and i am slipping
past darkened windows, and empty cars
with just my shadow for company
I will bask in my redundancy
as the lyrics write themselves
and then my fingers pick a tune from this guitar

I am blinded by the streetlight
like a deer on country lanes
and I am falling
Track Name: Too Late Now
I'm making plans to pass the time
I write these songs, they seldom rhyme
I used to quit, but now I smoke
This life's the only one I know

I've got some friends I never see
I wait but nothing's happening
I asked you if you felt the same
You know the rules; won't play the game

If I woke up now
from a life-long dream
I'd make sure to write it down
Cause I'd like to think
that I've learned some things
Though it's too late now

I've watched my days turn into nights
I've seen the city, but not the sights
I've broken hearts, so mine won't break
I try to learn from my mistakes

I learned my lines, I'll play my part
I love the ending, but I don't know where to start
So if you're looking for someone to lead
Don't follow me

'Cause If I woke up now
from a life-long dream
I'd make sure to write it down
Cause I'd like to think
that I've learned some things
Though it's too late now

So I won't sleep; I will not hide
It's time to follow my advice
And when it's time to pay dues
I'll let my life be my excuse

If I woke up now
from a life-long dream
I'd make sure to write it down
Cause I'd like to think
that I've learned some things
Though it's too late now
Track Name: We Parted
Late at night in good company,
we talked of idleness and injury
Problems and feelings shared
now more than halved
The stereo, two rooms away
repeated songs we'd hear again
and every song became
a song about love

You were hesitant, and I was naive
I was adamant, and you had to concede
We were close,
but not as close as we
might have come to be

One thing led to another,
as the song always goes,
and we lay there in bed
down to the last of our clothes
And by the way I tried to say I love you,

I held you close and gave you sympathy,
such little thanks for all you did for me
But mine's a caring heart,
and yours was broken
The stereo, two rooms away
repeated songs we'd hear again
and every song became
a song about love

You were hesitant, and I was naive
I was adamant, and you had to concede
We were close,
but not as close as we
might have come to be

One thing led to another,
as the song always goes,
and we lay there in bed
down to the last of our clothes
And by the way I tried to say I love you,
but the words got jumbled up
and I just kissed you again
And it was over before it started,
and we parted
